After cleaning the stem, slightly stretching the coil as you wrap it at the desired height, you create the most friction to hold the coil in place.

We have several musicians who have used Standaconda on a folder at least 2+ inches thick.  We do recommend if you have any doubt, use two Standaconda to help support the weight.

A professional tenor saxophone player (and middle school teacher) looked at the coil and said it looked like a snake... it was a quick blend of anaconda and stand .... to create Standaconda, and our mascot Standly was born.
